Search of Inspiration

What is inspiration? If I were to list every single piece of research, every thought, every decision, every mark, every colour choice, every technique I used to make an artwork, it would still not add up to a full account of the making of a particular piece of work. As an artist I need to find form to express and explore my ideas or concept. But what drives me to make a specific piece of work? Could you talk about a “ Muse” in this context? I shall talk about the nature of inspiration in relation to my own recent practice including my diversion into the worlds of neuroscience and philosophy as I explore embodiment and portraiture.
